Bring some monstrous aura to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
The Halloween spirit has cast its spell over us, and we hope you've been having a boo-tiful season—full of frightful fun, tasty treats, and haunted, uh, hobbies! However, let's keep the ghoul times going by making things a little more monstrous in the Tomodachi Life™: Living the Dream game.
Follow these steps to make your very own Mii™ monster (inspired by Frankenstein's Creature*).
Step 1: OK, let's start with a head shape that has a strong jawline. After all, most monsters have strong jawlines (at least, that's what their mothers tell them). Add a healthy "monster green" glow to the skin and you're good to move on!
Step 2: This monster is all about his forehead, so pick a haircut that shows off his noggin'. Change the hair to black for that extra pop.
Step 3: As the saying goes, "Eyebrows are the window to the soul" (wait, is that how the saying goes?). Shift those brows down one time and then rotate them inward so they sit a little flatter. It's for that "I'm not angry, I'm disappointed" look. Also, make the eyebrows match the hair color if that's your jam.
Step 4: Have you ever met a monster that didn't have scary eyes? Nope, didn't think so. Let's go with some piercing yellow peepers here.
Step 5: When it comes to noses, you need a big ol' honker here. You can also shift it down a little—whatever smells best to you!
Step 6: A straight line is OK, but we can do better with the mouth. This monster needs emotion. He needs to look like he just dropped his keys and then banged his knee against a table that he said he was going to move yesterday but never did because he got too busy. So…this mouth should work!
Step 7: Haven't you heard? This monster has ears.
Step 8: Now here's the thing about monsters—it's all about the details. Let's add some lines for texture. And then a couple of dimples to symbolize youthful innocence.
Step 9: Oh, here's the most important part: face paint! We're keeping it simple here, but you can do a lot with the face paint editor (there's even a Pro mode for you artists out here). We should mention right now that the writer of this article is not an artist.
Step 10: We're going to combine a bunch of things in this last step. Don’t forget to make him super tall, give him a fitting name, and fill in his birthday and age. We also set all of his personality traits to the far left of the personality chart.
And with that, BOOM! Congrats on making your monster! In case you're wondering, this was the game's description of Frank N. Monster:
Reserved
At a glance: Aloof
Traits: Logical, tenacious, cautious. Speaks matter of factly.
Observer
Self-sufficient and highly individual. Doesn't show much outward emotion, but has a lot going on deep down.
We get you, Frank N. Monster, we get you.

Happy Halloween, everyone!
*Yep, the monster isn't actually named "Frankenstein"—he's technically called Frankenstein's monster or the Creature. Now you know…if you didn't know before.
