Get warmed up for the new and returning sports in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort! – News – Nintendo Official Site
Get your game face on—the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort™ game is almost here, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system! On Oct. 22, you’ll be able compete in 12 different sports—solo or with a friend*, in person or online**—using intuitive motion controls.
But before we head to Wuhu Island—an island resort with tourist attractions and sports facilities—we gotta get warmed up. So, grab your headband, hike up your gym shorts, and let’s get ready to move!
What sports are new?
To help get you gameday ready, we thought we’d go through the new and returning sports you’ll find across land, sea, and…sky? Yup!
The new
Thumb Wrestling
Ready to hand-le anyone who dares oppose you? Pin your opponent’s thumb for three seconds to win. (Tip: If you hold your thumb down, it’ll get bigger and stronger. Who knew?)
Skateboarding
Yo, let’s kick(flip) it! Use the Joy-Con™ 2 controller as a mouse to grind rails, slide around, and even perform aerial tricks.
The returning
Power Cruising
Get carried a-wave exploring the island using any pair of Joy-Con controllers to steer. You can even twist the controller for an instant boost!
Archery
Draw your arrow, aim for the target, and shoot for the high score. But stay sharp—the wind may play a factor.
Bowling
Spare no time knockin’ down pins! You can even twist the controller to add a spin to your throw.
Table Tennis
Serve up some fun with quick and simple shots.
Boxing
Use different punches to get the ol’ K.O.
Prop Plane
Show that you’ve got the flight stuff by tilting your controller to speed up, roll in the air, and fire at balloons!
Tennis
Lob-y for the win using any Joy-Con controller as your racket.
Volleyball
Bump, set, and outmaneuver your opponent on the court. Make ‘em think you’re a dinosaur with all those sick spikes!
Basketball
It’s time to ball, y’all! Dribble, pass, and shoot to score. We’re swish-in’ you good luck.
Golf
Adjust your shot and swing away! A cup-le of tips: aim for the hole in the distance and check your ball’s trajectory.
Phew! Now that’s a whole lot of sports action. Just remember, you can always start your game by warming up with a little Jump Rope action.
