GTA 6 getting new dump of information next week, mark your calendars

Grand Theft Auto fans will soon get a whole new batch of information about upcoming game GTA VI next week.

U.S. games mag Game Informer has revealed the cover feature for its October issue will be Grand Theft Auto VI, including exclusive impressions, interviews, and other tidbits of information that haven’t been seen in any other preview.

Game Informer’s cover story in issue 382 will encompass 14 pages, and will be filled with “exclusive interview quotes and details of all things Vice City and Leonida.”

Being from South Florida, Game Informer’s Marcus Stewart adds that the feature will include his “homegrown perspective”, discussing certain details with Rockstar Games such as “Grand Theft Auto VI’s advanced weather systems that simulate Florida’s less sunny weather phenomena, the staggering amount of wildlife – native and otherwise – roaming Leonida on land, air, and sea, and Rockstar’s approach to researching Miami and Florida.”

Game Informer will also host 12 new screenshots in the story, as well as exclusive artwork featuring the game’s dual protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

Game Informer Issue 382 will go on sale on September 29, 2026, and is for sale in the U.S. as well as internationally in over 50 countries.

What other gameplay details are known about GTA 6?

Grand Theft Auto VI is the latest installment in the GTA series from Rockstar Games, and the first new game in the franchise since 2013.

Originally announced in 2023, fans had nothing to go on except for two trailers and a handful of screenshots until earlier this summer, where Rockstar aired the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look, as well as embargoing gameplay previews from various outlets and content creators.

For the most part, it looks like a current-generation Grand Theft Auto game, with improved visuals, technology, and gameplay features over GTA V.

All of that is to say that you’ll be exploring an open world Vice City, stealing cars, robbing stores, and getting into fights and high-speed chases against the police and other types of enemies. However, Rockstar Games has also revealed a few other major enhancements over the earlier games.

The big focus for Grand Theft Auto VI is on the relationship between Jason and Lucia, who can do activities together or split up to do their own thing. Their relationship will depend on the player’s actions, affecting the story based on how you choose to have the characters spend their time together.

Some of these activities include skydiving, wrestling, basketball, exercising, and scuba diving. You can also do heists together and other criminal activities, with the game tracking how professional each hit is which affects the characters’ reputations.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
