The Blood of Dawnwalker drops free surprise for players ahead of October update

The Blood of Dawnwalker players are patiently awaiting the arrival of a major update previously promised by developer Rebel Wolves to drop in October.

In the meantime though, another surprise has surfaced. The Blood of Dawnwalker’s excellent original soundtrack has made its way to Spotify and other streaming services and can now be enjoyed for free.

Previously, the soundtrack was only available digitally exclusively to those who picked up The Blood of Dawnwalker’s pricier Eclipse Edition.

The incredible soundtrack is composed by Nikola Kołodziejczyk with The Witcher veterans Piotr Musiał and Mikolai Stroinski also sharing credits.

Adam Jędrysik and Karolina Matuszkiewicz complete the line-up of contributing artists.

Personally, it was one of my favourite soundtracks of the year - if not my absolute favourite, in fact.

The 14th-century and Carpathian folk influences really set The Blood of Dawnwalker’s soundtrack apart from anything else released in the last 12 months.

The soundtrack is both eerie and comforting, with its familiar motifs repeating throughout the game.

It’s undoubtedly epic and well worth revisiting after rolling credits on Rebel Wolves’ debut title.

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s soundtrack could be the perfect choice for your next work or study session.

I also highly recommend playing epic game soundtracks while out on nature walks; it’ll really elevate the walk and give you that main character energy.

The soundtrack lasts for around 90 minutes and comprises 37 songs.

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s first major content update is on the way any day now

What The Blood of Dawnwalker fans are hoping follows the release of the entirety of the game’s soundtrack on streaming is that aforementioned October update.

Rebel Wolves previously outlined the RPG’s first major post-launch content update, teasing the arrival of a new difficulty option, and adjustments to the game’s camera and open-world combat encounters.

When the update drops, running past open-world enemies in wolf or haste form will make them less likely to attack and players should also no longer get soft-locked in place if they do trigger an open-world fight.

That should make exploring a lot less irritating. Plus you should expect to be able to stun enemies without the lock-on automatically then switching you to another enemy.

Rebel Wolves has also confirmed its interest in adding a New Game Plus mode as well as new enemy types but those features aren’t necessarily confirmed for this update.

The upcoming update has no launch date beyond the window of “early October”.

We’re almost midway through October so hopefully, Rebel Wolves offers an update sooner rather than later. Beyond that, it's already confirmed that a sequel is in the works.

While Rebel Wolves has already released a cinematic teaser set in the present day, it's believed that we'll follow Coen through the ages with the modern-day segment being the end goal of the franchise.
