Naughty Dog Is Reportedly Developing New Uncharted with Nathan Drake

Naughty Dog is allegedly working on a new Uncharted game featuring Nathan Drake. The project is said to be a new entry rather than a reimagining of previous titles and will reportedly be directed by Shaun Escayg, director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

According to MP1st's report, citing "sources familiar with the situation," Naughty Dog's new Uncharted will feature Nathan Drake, though it remains unclear whether he will appear as the protagonist, a side character, or in a cameo role. The report emphasized that the mentioned project is a brand-new franchise entry, not a remake or remaster of any prior titles. The new Uncharted project will be Naughty Dog's next game after Intergalactic, with The Last of Us Part III reportedly following it.

The new game will allegedly be helmed by Shaun Escayg, who also directed the standalone expansion to Uncharted 4 – Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Last year, Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann confirmed that the studio was working on "another game" without sharing any details about it, and it could be the new Uncharted project, especially given that the mentioned game was reportedly directed by Shaun Escayg.

The most recent Uncharted game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, was released in 2016, and recently, a decade after its release, we got to know how he original vision of Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer on the first three Uncharted games, differed dramatically from the final version.
