Web Design Inspiration: 3 Sites With Strong Visual Ideas
Web design inspiration from A24, Butter and White Desert, with three homepage screenshots and a look at their type, imagery and layouts.
A24: Web design inspiration from film
A24 makes films and television shows. Its homepage gives that work most of the screen. A large list of film titles sits over moving images. The logo, menu and search stay small, so the film names are easy to spot. There is little else to pull your eye away. The page shows how much a site can say with scale alone. Large type leads the eye, while the image beneath it sets the mood. The small controls leave space for both.

Butter: Big type, playful details
Butter is a video editor with a bright, playful homepage. A huge black headline shares the screen with glossy keychain art. The pale background gives those objects room to stand out. A script logo adds a soft touch next to the bold type. Round buttons and a floating menu pick up the shapes in the art. Those small choices help the whole page feel like one piece. The strong type keeps it easy to read, even with so much color in the frame.

White Desert: Give the view space
White Desert offers trips to Antarctica. Its homepage puts the wide, open landscape first. A large place name sits over the view, with a small menu close by. Fine lines run down the screen and give the layout some structure. Designed by Malvah, the site leaves much of the image clear. The view has room to set the tone before you read more about the trips. It is a useful way to show a place whose scale is part of the appeal.
