Andersen EV and RCA Crown ‘Art of Speed’ Design Winner

Aviv Yanowski’s sculptural ‘Racing Lines’ concept reimagines the premium home electric vehicle charger, taking the top prize at the British Grand Prix.

Andersen EV and the Royal College of Art (RCA) have announced the winner of their ‘Art of Speed’ design competition. The brief challenged students to reimagine the premium home electric vehicle charge point by exploring themes of motorsport, luxury and sustainability. The live judging session for the five shortlisted concepts took place at Escapade Silverstone, coinciding with the Formula 1 British Grand Prix race weekend.

Intelligent Mobility student Aviv Yanowski secured the £1,000 first prize with his submission, titled ‘Racing Lines’. The concept is an organic sculptural charger inspired by flowing natural forms and racing lines, created to integrate into urban and domestic environments while encouraging sustainable thinking.

Second place went to Jiahao Wang for ‘Power Core of Motorsport’, while Rayhan Arifinsyah took third place with ‘APEX’. The panel evaluating the entries included Andersen EV Head of Marketing Charlie Atkinson, RCA MA Intelligent Mobility Head of Programme Chris Thorpe, and Car Design News Editor-in-Chief James McLachlan.

Andersen EV CEO David Martell said, “The standard of work from each finalist was exceptional, and we would like to thank the RCA, Escapade Silverstone and our judges for helping make the competition such a success”.

Martell noted that as consumers switch to electric vehicles, the charger is becoming an integral part of the home. He added, “We set out to encourage the next generation of designers to think beyond infrastructure and imagine products that people genuinely want to live with”.
