Ogilvy Greece turns pets into food bins in playful campaign

The disarmingly effective print ads for Mousoudi Pet Shop are designed to raise awareness of the issue of feeding dogs and cats table scraps

Anyone who has ever owned a dog or cat will recognise the pleading look that appears the moment food hits the table. But while slipping your furry pal the odd leftover is a habit many owners see as harmless, regularly doing so can contribute to obesity, digestive problems and other long-term health issues.

Ogilvy Greece has tackled that common misconception with a simple yet striking new print campaign for Mousoudi Pet Shop, using a visual metaphor that is at once highly amusing and slightly uncomfortable.

Titled Food Scraps, the campaign depicts cats and dogs as literal waste bins, their open mouths transformed into receptacles overflowing with half-eaten chicken wings, fish bones and the remnants of a Sunday lunch. It’s an arresting image that lands the message instantly: pets are companions, not receptacles for discarded leftovers.

Overseen by chief creative officer Panos Sambrakos, group creative director Rena Chrisoulaki and associate creative director Spiros Sourlantzis, the posters reflect Mousoudi Pet Shop’s animal-first ethos while reminding owners that showing affection sometimes means resisting your pet’s imploring eyes.

It’s a great example of how to deliver a disarmingly effective public awareness campaign without relying on finger-wagging messaging or dry statistics, reframing an everyday behaviour many owners barely think twice about.
