The project follows the recent acquisition of Unity Living by The Mesh Group and Brookfield, prompting a need to reimagine the brand for its next phase of growth. The brief sought to bring together a diverse audience, which includes students, business travellers, and short-stay guests, under a single, unified identity.

A mockup of three vertical promotional posters displayed inside the glass windows of a building storefront. The left poster reads "RELAX" in a teal serif font above a line illustration of two people relaxing inside a wooden sauna. The middle poster features the word "UNITY" in white against a soft green-to-beige gradient background with a central interlocking emblem. The right poster reads "WORK" above a line illustration of a person sitting at a wooden table, wearing headphones and typing on a laptop. Interior lights and furniture are subtly reflected on the glass surface.

To achieve this, AGIT8 developed a new logo and a bespoke primary colour palette. The visual identity aims to combine Nordic simplicity with a vibrant and human-centred personality. The primary colours express the core values of the brand, set the tone across all communications, and ensure consistency across both physical and digital touchpoints. While secondary, location-based logos may change colour, the primary palette remains constant across the brand.

Character-led illustrations

To enrich the overall brand experience, AGIT8 commissioned illustrator James Brandow to create a series of distinctive, character-led illustrations. The bespoke artwork introduces warmth, personality, and a contemporary sense of playfulness to the identity.

An architectural visualization of a modern, multi-story industrial-style building at dusk. Warm light glows from the large grid windows, and a prominent backlit "Unity" logo is mounted on the upper facade. In the foreground, stylized black-and-white line-art drawings of people are superimposed onto the realistic street scene—some are walking with coffee, others are chatting in pairs, and a group sits on stone blocks beneath trees. A yellow taxi is visible driving along the street on the left.

These illustrations are specifically designed to enhance photography where no people are present, ensuring that otherwise static scenes feel engaging and recognisably part of the Unity Living brand. They also help to give each location a distinctive visual marker.

Digital overhaul and user experience

Supporting the rollout of the new physical identity, AGIT8 partnered with web design agency Flourish to launch a new website for Unity Living. The collaboration translated the refreshed visual language into a digital environment, encompassing a complete overhaul of the platform’s copywriting, user experience, and interface design. The agency aimed to deliver a more intuitive and seamless booking journey for prospective guests.

Unity Living chief executive officer Armon Bar-Tur said, “The most successful real estate brands are those that evolve alongside the people they serve. Unity Living is built around the changing needs of modern residents and travellers, and this new identity reflects that ambition with clarity, confidence and character.”

An overhead, angled flat-lay presentation of printed brand guideline cards spread across a neutral surface. The cards detail the visual identity for "Unity," showcasing typography guidelines (Aleo font variants), the primary logo with its signature gradient emblem, location-based secondary logos (including Tampere, Malmö, Kista, and Hammarby Sjöstad), primary color blocks, and a dedicated "Illustrations" page displaying a collection of minimalist black-and-white line drawings of people in various active and relaxed poses.

AGIT8 managing director Alexander Stolerman said, “Hospitality brands can feel like a sea of sameness. We wanted to create a brand that felt unmistakably Unity – one that combines Nordic restraint with warmth, character and a sense of fun. The result is a distinctive identity that helps the brand stand apart while bringing together a diverse community of students, professionals and short-stay guests.”
