Olivia Colman narrates Monzo’s global brand platform launch

Developed by BBH London and directed by Daniel Wolfe, Get busy living is the digital bank’s biggest-ever integrated campaign

Monzo has launched its first global brand platform, Get busy living, positioning the digital bank for its next phase of growth in the UK and across Europe.

Developed by BBH London alongside Monzo’s in-house creative studio and social agency Nusa Studios, the platform is the bank’s biggest integrated campaign to date, spanning TV, cinema, streaming, radio, social, digital and out-of-home.

At its heart is a deceptively simple proposition: when your money works quietly in the background, you have more time to get on with the important things in life.

The campaign brings that idea to life through 10 cinematic, single-shot films directed by Daniel Wolfe and narrated by Academy Award winner Olivia Colman. Each focuses on an intimate everyday moment – from a couple sneaking home after a date to a father twirling joyfully with his young daughter after bath time – while Monzo’s services appear unobtrusively alongside the action.

The films are soundtracked by a selection of classic earworms including George Michael’s Careless Whisper, The Who’s Baba O’Riley, Van Morrison’s Days Like This and Wheatus’ Teenage Dirtbag, giving the campaign a distinctly nostalgic, pop-cultural flavour.

The launch also marks Monzo’s first foray into sonic branding. Developed with Sonicbrand, The Sound of Good Vibrations takes its cue from the bank’s name, combining its ‘mmm’, ‘zzz’ and ‘ooo’ sounds into a new sonic logo that will appear across advertising and eventually within the app.

Monzo is also taking the campaign onto the streets, featuring the work of Elliot James Kennedy, whose observational glimpses of everyday life mirror the hero films, in one of its largest-ever out-of-home pushes.

Launched in 2025, the platform arrives with Monzo now counting more than 15 million people and businesses as users of its services. Its UK launch precedes a wider European rollout, signalling a shift for Monzo from fintech challenger to established banking brand with ambitions well beyond its home market.
